Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

2008 Memory Walk

The Memory Walk was yesterday. The pic above is our team. The weather was perfect and we had a good time walking and knowing we were doing out part to help raise money for a worthy cause. Our team raised just over $600 and the walk raised over $20,000. Donations are still being taken until November 15.
We arrived at the event at 9:15, signed in and walked around meeting other walkers. We took pictures and chatted until "warm ups" began at 9:45. The walk started promptly at 10:00 and we finished the 3 miles at 10:50. The little ones had a ton of energy and we spent some of the time running and skipping with them, and then loading them back in strollers and wagons, with snacks, and continued our walk.
Lunch was provided after the walk and we set up blankets and had a "picnic" under a tree while the raffle took place. 2 of our 6 members won prizes in the raffle and we all walked away feeling like winners.
We, as a group, are committing to doing this walk again next year as well as the MS Walk and hopefully one more. If you've never participated in an event such as this, I encourage you to do it. It is definitely something for the whole family to do and teaches our children about giving to others.
