The first year we moved into our house (a little over five years ago) I was met the following Spring by an entire ant colony...in my kitchen. They were around for weeks, the neighbors had the same problem (which is unaceptable to me.) We put out traps, threw a ton of stuff (food) away, and finally sprayed the entire kitchen with a toxic spray (removing everything, washing all the dishes, cups, etc and putting back) which worked...until the following Spring.
We repeated all methods and finally got rid of them that year and I vowed to not go through that again.
Now, every year as the weather starts to warm, I send Hubby out with his Antbuster spray to drench the entire perimeter of the house as well as underneath. It has worked and we have been ant free...until now!
The costruction must have stirred them and they are back with a vengence. I can not stand ants in the house. They are mostly contained to the counter space and around the refrigerator. I haven't seen any in the cabinets or near the food, but I want them gone. Hubby sprayed the perimeter yesterday and they were gone instantly, only to retun this morning. Someone's gotta go and it aint gonna be me!
