Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

The Fishing Trip

The kids decided to go fishing yesterday. I went to get my shoes but was quickly informed that "Moms" were not allowed on this trip. It was only for kids. I thought about it, and while I don't really like the kids to go off without me, I knew the "spot" they were going fishing at and felt they would be safe making the trip alone (they are 5 and 2.5, afterall).

They came back all excited to tell me about the fish they caught. I asked to see them but was told "we don't really like to eat fish, so we threw them back." Okay, "So tell me what you caught?" Boogie caught a trout, a bass, and a catfish. Puddin' Pop (apparently more in tune with her fishing "spot') caught a shark, an octopus and a tire (yes, a tire). They were so cute telling me all about it. I loved that they had this time to be alone together and enjoy each others company. I hope they have many more moments like this.

They didn't see me taking a picture of their trip. I hope they don't find out I followed them.
