Since Hubby's seizure on Friday, he has seen a neurologist, a pain management specialist (he has chronic back pain and the meds may be what caused the seizures) and today he is having an MRI.
The pain management Doctor was amazed at the dosage of one of his meds prescribed by his primary physician. Apparently Ultram (the med in question) lowers a persons seizure threshold. So if you are prone to seizures, they could become worse. It also, in large doses, can actually cause them. We are hoping that this is the case. He has stopped taking it and if the other tests do not reveal any other underlying circumstances, we'll "Wait and see" if he has any more seizures.
Cross your fingers.
