Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

It's what Mom's do

Last night Hubby and I looked foward to some "bonding" time. It's been a while. We got the kids to bed by 8:00. We watched a little TV, drank some wine (I did anyway, Hubby can't with his seizure meds)and talked. I then went upstairs, took a shower, put on a slinky nightgown, and went to the bedroom where Hubby had soft music playing and the room lit only by candlelight.

We laid on the bed, began to kiss, and the screaming began.

Unfortunately, the screaming was coming from Boogie's room

We rushed to see what was wrong. He was holding both legs and screaming in pain. Growing pain. I got him some Motrin, and as requested, laid down with him in his bed. I rubbed his legs until we both fell asleep.

I awoke to Puddin' Pop calling for me at 6am. I went to her room and, as requested, climbed into her bed. We snuggled and said our good mornings, and then she noticed what I was wearing (still the slinky nightgown) She said "You look pretty, Mommy." I had to smile.

It's just what Mom's do.

  1. That is so cute "You look pretty Mommy." I love it. It's something my daughter would do. One time my husband and I went to a wedding and I was wearing a dress and my daughter said "Mommy, you're a princess!"

Just shows you how often I wear a dress! LOL
