Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

We are a Gaming Family

I have always enjoyed playing video games. I remember as a kid, my dad taking us to Pinball Pete's, a local video game place, where we would spend hours playing games like Pac-Man and Tron. Hubby also enjoys playing. He likes the shoot 'em up games while I enjoy puzzle games, but we have both enjoyed teaching our son some of the games we played as kids, and letting him teach us about the new ones.

We have a PS2, and while Hubby would love a PS3, I decided to get him a Nintendo Wii last Father's day(2 Fathers Days ago). We have all enjoyed playing Wii Sports together, even though 5 year old son kills us in bowling. I got Wii Fit for Mother's Day (actually I got a gift card, because it hadn't come out yet, but got it soon after) and LOVE it. We also downloaded Donkey Kong, and Mario 64, it's amazing how the graphics have changed over the years...and they seemed so cool back then.

With all this gaming going on (not really, but we enjoy it on rainy days, and the boys stay up late on the weekends) it is no surprise that Boogie wants a Nintendo DS for Christmas. It's about the only thing he has asked for, so...we are considering it. Hubby was online last night doing some comparison shopping on new versus used, and which sites had them available, or would by Christmas. Hopefully it will fit into the Xmas budget, as we would also need to purchase at least one game. I haven't even looked to see what Nintendo DS games are available, I think I'll let Hubby handle that. Right now he keeps saying he wants the Kirby game, as it's the one he see's most on TV.

I like the idea of a hand held game, because Puddin' Pop doesn't always enjoy watching the rest of us play, and she hasn't quite mastered the skills to join in...although we try to help her, and she did pretty well on Mario Cart the other day. She went really fast...the wrong way!
