Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

Buying by the Label

I'll admit it. When I'm looking to try a new wine, I look for a variety I like and seek out a cool label. Sometimes I'm in the mood for flowers or bright colors, sometimes it might be the name, and sometimes it's just a label that strikes my mood. Is that wrong? I've come across some good ones and some I-don't-care-how-cool-the-label-is-this-sucks wine, although not that often due to my love of everything wine and an inability to waste it.

Recently I was in one of those moods and bought a delightful Mar del Sur Malbec. With it's inky purple colors and an aroma of mixed red fruits and coffee, this was a delightful purchase-by-label choice. I enjoyed it with my usual Steak and mixed veggies and it complimented the crushed red pepper/roasted garlic seasoning, I used on both, perfectly.

While I enjoy having wine with friends, I also enjoy a quiet evening, kid and hubster free, to enjoy food and beverages that none of them would touch. (Hubster would eat steak but it would have to cook for and extra 30 minutes). This wine relaxed my mood, went well with my dinner selection, and was even delightful with my dark chocolate oreo for dessert. For just under $10, this wine and experience was worth so much more.

Seriously, isn't that a cool label?
