Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

What? I Could Have Had Sapphires?

I am very fortunate to have my own personal jeweler. I call him Dad. While I feel in some instances it is better to take your wife/girlfriend shopping for that special piece, I always just let dad know what I liked and didn't and then would just send the guy to him. Dad would never allow me to be short changed...another great advantage.

So you think I'd know a lot about jewelry. I don't. I know what I like, am pretty simplistic in my needs, but like to receive nice things that don't clash with my other stuff.

I came across Bella True and their beautiful collection of jewels and the "tips for Guys" section caught my eye. With everything from what to buy AND when, to Gemstones by color, it is a fascinating guide to help poor fellas who don't have a trusty FIL in the business like my hubster does.

I must admit, I didn't know that there were gemstones to match anniversary dates (Dad must have left this out) but now that I know, I'm re-thinking the whole "don't get me anything, you're all I need" statement for our tenth this past Summer. I could have had blue sapphires? It's not too late...is it? I'm thinking a pendant would be nice. I have several chains so I'm sure I could find the perfect necklace to hang it on. Earrings? I don't wear them that often, but I might, with a new pair of sapphire ones to show off. Maybe like these.

Whatever the occasion. If you're a guy, looking for tips, check out Bella True for advice and a great selection. If you're a woman, and don't want to be disappointed, you can just send the link to your special guy.
