Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

Idol, Pretty Nails, and a Photo Shoot

Hanging with the lovely ladies over at Blue Monkey Butt today for What the Hell Wednesday. Go visit Elle and Stacey and play along. You've gotta have a moment or two of your own.

American Idol last night. They all sounded good except...Siobhan. What the Hell? The judges thought it was a good performance but I swear she was way off key. Shania even noticed. Anyone else in agree?

Do you ever feel like just pulling your hair out? I'm going to need a good hair loss cure if I don't get a good nights sleep soon. The kids have been having bad dreams or something but I feel as though I'm constantly being woken. What the Hell? I just want 6 hour straight. Is that too much to ask?

Took Pudding Pop for a fabulous Girls Day yesterday. We had her nails done and they went all out for her birthday. It was way cool but I'm pretty sure I'll never be allowed to do her nails again. What the Hell?

Then we went to get pictures done at JC Penney. This was a bad idea. The photographer was great. The pictures turned out fantastic and I ordered way too many, what the hell? They click, click, click and make all these collage and specialty prints and then start asking you which you like. It was hard to say no to any of them and I ordered 18 sheets. Anyone want a pic of my kid? Really. I'll have plenty. Is is in bad tasted to send the grandparents 6 different 8x10s of your child? What's done is done. I'll stop complaining about the school doing 3 poses a year. I think I'll look forward to it.

  1. I can't function at all without enough sleep. It's just torture.

Pudding Pop's nails look adorable. She's going to want you to be able to paint them like that. Good luck!

It's soooo hard to not buy every single picture they take of your kids and they know that. I see 8 x 10's as birthday, Christmas, Halloween, Fourth of July, and Flag Day presents.

Thanks for joining us again for WTHW!

  2. I normally do not watch Idol, but there was nothing else decent on either (on over 200 channels!) If those were the top 6, it had to be slim pickings this year. At least 2 of them last night would be going home if I was a judge.

  3. I'm with Elle, without sleep I shut. Down.

Oooh, I hate that with photographers! I always look for places that will give me the proofs or digital negatives, because I can't stand to say no!

As for Idol..um...I just watched the summary before Glee...and aside from the first guy I thought ever single person was AWFUL. Not just bad, but cringe-worthy. It confused me. Because I usually like idol stars when they go release stuff later.

  4. American Idol has stunk big time this year. I gave up watching it at least three weeks ago.
They sell little stickers you can put on Pudding Pop's nails when next you do them. Cool design, no fuss. If the grandparents refuse multiple pictures, they should be disowned. It's a rule. LOL

  5. Her nails look so pretty! Now she's going to want to go there all the time :) I think kids get nightmares in spurts. My son can go a week getting them, and then not. I do the same with the pictures!

Thanks for joining us this week!

  6. School does 3 a year...wow things have changed; we used to get one and it didn't matter how lousy it was.

Finger nails are cute, sounds like she had fun.

Try changing your routine about bedtime. Get the kids ready for bed earlier then normal, have a longer getting ready, getting quiet, adjustment time. Do bath at night if you've been doing it during the day. Bath's can be very relaxing. After bath, quiet only time. No running around, noting to provide stimulant. Book, reading time. Play soft background music. No TV, no loud music, no running and jumping. Sometimes they just need to slow their little bodies down. Talk softly, no yelling to the other end of the house.

    Hang in there
    Sandy
