Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

Time to Tackle the Dreaded Swimsuit Search

We had a work picnic yesterday that hardly anyone showed up for. The boss and his family, The four of us, one of the young girls that just started working (and is also bestest buddies with Boss' daughter) and one other manager and his wife. It was perfect. Sucked a little that no one else showed but the kids had a great time. We had plenty of food. Once the Manager and his wife left we realized that everyone that was left was our Vacation crew. We've got a house booked in Nags head for a week in August and it will be my Boss and his family, the four of us, and the bestest buddy of Boss' daughter. So the dreaded topic of swimsuits came up.

Turns out the Boss' wife has already purchased hers. I thought we could tackle the shopping together but apparently she is was more organized than I am (we already knew this). So now I must take on this chore alone. I don't even know what style I want. My back is breaking out but I'm sure the sun will provide the perfect acne solutions for that. I'll start looking online. Anyone find the perfect suit and want to share the information? I really want to get this task done so I can start getting excited about the trip and start planning menus and excursions. Is it August yet?

  3. Last summer I went through the same thing. I ended up getting a vneck halter style with a little skirty thing for the bottoms. but i also bought a separate more sporty version of the skirty bottom that I feel more comfortable in. a nice milk chocolate brown. it was a Chaps design from Kohl's and I feel like its age appropriate with out being frumpy or too revealing.

  4. Lands End, I bought 3 over the last 2 years, pretty much same style but different colors and patterns. They're 2 pieces ones (no stomach showing); which is nice if you need a different size on top and bottom. They have a real crouch for real women (no constant tugging at your suit to keep your bum in), and options for those who need help on top (like me) as well as those who need to minimize to keep from falling out. Adult suits in other words, not some string thing that people think they look good in.

Little skirty bottom which I love, they are very comfortable and you don't feel you need a cover up wearing one.

Comfortable, age appropriate and I have had several compliments when wearing them.

Got a picture of them over on the suitcase...though off the top of my head can't remember which post...will look.

They even have a guide which suit style to look for given your body type...

  5. I should also add they hold up well. The pink one was the first I ordered and this is the 3rd year for it.

  6. Rikki~ It's okay. Didn't we look at suits last year (or the year before) at Kohl's? I thought it would be fun.

Pam~ Thanks for the tip. I'll try Old Navy.

Cassandra~ That's the style I'm looking at. Something "mature":)

Sandy~ I have heard that Lands End has great suits. I checked out their site yesterday but...I must be seriously mis-proportioned or I have no waist (or a lot of it). None of my measurements were matching up:(

  7. Bathing suit shopping is not my specialty. Hope you found something suitable (pun intended).
