Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

What Makes A Person Dream Worthy?

Have you ever had a steamy dream about another person and not remembered it until you saw them?

Me too.

Awkward!

Did you tell them?

I did not.

My husband and I separated 2.5 years ago.  I have not even been out on a date, but I must be close.

I'm putting off a vibe, apparently.

In the last month, 3 men have told me that they have had dreams about me.

It's been more than 20 years since I've heard that.

I'm not bragging.  I'm merely curious as to why?  What vibe am I putting out?

First.  I know all of these men personally, but 2 are merely FB friends at this point.  I haven't seen them in more than 20 years.  The other, I have seen more recently/

What about me is worthy of Men's dreams?

and more importantly....

What about me says, "Please tell me that you had a steamy dream about me"?

Not trying to call anyone out.  I'm the only one that knows.

I'm flattered.  Really.  Why me?

Commence discussion.....

Slacker Tooth Fairy Pays 2 kids for One Tooth

Last night around bed time...

Scratch that.  We really don't do bedtime in the summer.  It may be bad parenting but, having the kids sleep in until 10-10:30 is incredible.

So it was around 10pm.  Kids are watching TV and eating gummie bears/worms, when Handsome announces that he lost one of his molars.  Awesome.  I just happen to have cash in my purse, which NEVER happens.  I'm all set for this.  I smile to myself.

Fast forward a couple hours.  I'm falling asleep, Puddin Pop is already sleeping, and Handsome is on the couch watching videos on his tablet.  (the kids prefer sleeping in the living room when on vacation, and on weekends, and every. chance. they. get).  I decide to get up and get a dollar to put under his pillow, so I don't have to get back up when Handsome falls asleep.  I crawl into the bed and tuck it under my pillow until it's time.

 Fast forward another hour...

PP wakes me up to say there is something wet on the bed, she thinks it's pee and belongs to one of the cats. It turned out to be water, from a bottle that the lid didn't get screwed onto.  I get up, to clean the mess, and PP scooches over claiming, "I'll keep your spot warm for you."... followed by, "Hey.  Why is there a dollar under your pillow?  It must be the one I lost earlier.  Where's my purse?"

Sure as shit, she gets up and puts the dollar with her other money, claiming she lost $1 earlier in the day.  WTF? Handsome has headphones on and missed the whole thing.  I would've mentioned the whole tooth fairy thing but, I hadn't retrieved the tooth yet and, she is already leery about the validity of said tooth fairy.  I let it go, and let her have the money but, only because I had ONE dollar left.

Get her tucked back in, get the other dollar, and tuck it IN my pillow case.

Another hour passes...

Handsome wants to get into the bed,  He had fallen asleep on the couch.  PP is dead center so I give him my spot and move to the couch.

PP and I get up around 9.  Handsome awakes around 10:30 and the first thing he wants to know is, "Where's my money?"

I realize that I still haven't retrieved the tooth.  Thankfully, it disappeared on it's own (probably under the couch, I'll look later).

I pretend to help him look by shaking out the blankets and pillows until it falls out of said pillow case.

Now he's happy.

They BOTH are a dollar richer, and I'm the slacker Tooth Fairy that should have this down by now.

Ebay Purchase Gone Wrong

What would you do?

Last week I purchased one of eBay's Deals of the Day.

A manufactured refurbished Kindle Fire for $99.  I've wanted on for a long time and finally found a price point I could justify.

I also purchased a wall charger.  The 2 items were purchased at the same time, but coming from different sellers.

Two hours after purchase, I realized (from the email notification) that the ship to address was incorrect.  Somehow, while changing my home address to the new one, eBay defaulted to an alternate address.  One I have never resided at, but have sent gifts to.

I immediately notified BOTH sellers.  Neither was showing shipping information, so I knew I was in time.
The next morning I received an email that the charger had shipped.  I later received confirmation of my change of address and a message saying they would send out a second charger to the CORRECT address.
That, is awesome customer service.

From the seller of the Kindle I received this...

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately, we are unable to change any shipping addresses. We ship to the address that is connected to your Paypal account. If the address is incorrect, only the account owner can correct it.

Sorry if this causes you any inconvenience.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

Thanks,

To which I replied...

The paypal address is correct. The email address that ebay provided was incorrect. If you are using the paypal address, it should be going to the address I emailed you about.

Thanks for clarification.

They reply with...

 Hello,

Your order will be shipped to 11 (wrong address) VA 23666.

Really? All this BEFORE it is even marked as shipped. Why wouldn't they change it?

I reply...

That is the incorrect address and is not, nor ever been, connected to my paypal account. Not sure why it couldn't be changed since I notified you before it shipped. Your sending it to my EX In-Laws. Thanks for that.

...and get this

 Hi,

Thank you for contacting us! I apologize for this inconvenience. The address was provided via PayPal; we would not select this information for you. Furthermore, we do ask that customers review the information provided because we have such a short time frame to modify orders. I understand you emailed us shortly after; however, due to the increasing number of correspondences received, we were unable to receive your inquiry before the order was confirmed as shipped.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. I appreciate your patience.

I feel this is crap.

Now it's been sent.  Tracking shows that it was delivered yesterday.  Ex, who lives with his parents, sends me a text to say the charger came, yesterday.  Funny enough, the replacement charger came to my house 2 days earlier.  The kindle has NOT arrived, according to him.

How would you proceed?

Do I contact eBay?

Would you ever trust this seller again?

Have you had similar issues?

I've never had issues with eBay but feel this seller did themselves and me, a huge injustice.

*UPDATE:
hours after this post went live, the package was found at the alternate address.

Summer Fun with Coppertone

We received Coppertone products as part of their Coppertone Moms campaign.   The opinions are honest and my own.

Two days left of school.

It can not come quick enough.

I love the opportunity to spend full days with the kids and not have to worry about a specific bed time.

We are registered for the Sparkle Me Wild 5K on the 4th of July, so will be walking/running the track at the school to make sure we can all finish.

Water Country, Busch Gardens and the pool are all some of our favorite ways to spend time together.

Thanks to Coppertone, we are armed with all the sunblock we need to keep us protected from the sun.

Spending the weekend at the pool, I can confidently say that these products are as good as they claim.  No one got too much sun, and no one ever complained about stinging.  We loved the ease of the spray sun block, but the kids often thought it stung a little when applying.  The lotions we received this year go on like any lotion but are tear free.  Putting it on kids who just want to be in the water is a breeze since you can cover the whole face without worrying about stinging eyes.

We try to re-apply every 2 hours (80 minutes is suggested).  I am thrilled that they stay protected even though Mome can't follow directions.

How do you like to spend your Summer?

White Sangria~ Perfect for Hot Summer Days

I was recently picking up a few items at Walgreen's.  I wasn't there for wine, but always check out selections wherever I am.

I came across a GREAT deal on Franzia's Crisp White and knew I had to try it.  Just $12.99 for a 5 liter box, how could I go wrong?

A medium bodied wine with hints of grapefruit.  It is refreshing on it's own and even better in a homemade sangria.

I added random fruit from the fridge.  Watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe and cherries.  Use whatever you have on hand, there's no rules here. The added fruit flavor was amazing and the wine infused fruit at the end was even better.

I didn't even know I liked sangria.

This is my new go to drink of the summer.

What new recipes have you come up with?

Wordless Wednesday~ Pool Fun!

Cheesy Chicken Alfredo and Blackstone Cabernet

After looking at Pinterest the other day to find some new recipes, I decided on a chicken casserole that was way more involved than I ever get for dinner so... I created my own.

You Will Need

3 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
12 oz of uncooked Pasta (I used bowtie)
1 jar (8oz) Alfredo sauce
1 cup Milk
1-2 Tbsp Garlic Powder (or fresh if on hand)
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese
1.5 cups mozzarella cheese

Cut chicken into small pieces and brown in a skillet with olive oil and garlic.  I chopped mine up for even smaller pieces.  When chicken is fully cooked, add Alfredo, milk and cream cheese.  simmer on low until mixed well and cream cheese is melted. Set aside

Boil pasta until done, drain and add to chicken mixture.  Toss to make sure it's evenly coated

Put into a 9x9 casserole dish and generously cover with mozzarella.  Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

Cool (10 minutes)

Serve

Kids loved it and both had seconds

I enjoyed mine with this...

An inexpensive ($8.99) Cabernet found at my local Food Lion.

Love the new labels for Blackstone.  I think that's what caught my eye.

This wine has a palate of plum, pepper and vanilla with a spicy finish. Not overly bold bet a pleasant enough wine to sip on with dinner on a school night.

So Here I am...

So here I am.

After an extensive hiatus, a new full time job, and trying to figure out how to manage 3 blogs with 3 very different topics, I've merged them all.  They are all me.  They no longer need to be separated to fit into a niche.  It's about me, my family, my interests, and my need to over share.  I can do that all in one place and leave behind memories that the kids will be able to enjoy for years to come.

I've got the blogging bug back and am excited to share.

It also helps that it's summer and the kids are finding more and more stuff to do that doesn't involve me.

Glad to be back!

Mome

Puddin Pop's First Solo

Puddin Pop had her first solo with the church choir.  She looks nervous (when you can see her) and seems to be shaking her head "no".

If you watch the other girl, she is being asked to go back with the rest of the group and is insisting that PP wants her help.  PP is shaking her head "no" stating that she does not want help.

This made me teary.

Welcome Summer. White Capris and WHITE panties. Just Sayin'

This morning Puddin Pop decided to wear white capris... just like mome.  As she was headed out the door, I noticed the print on her undies showing through and suggested she change to plain white ones.

Panties changed and heading out the door once again, Puddin Pop says,

"Mom, you may want to change YOUR panties.  The black is showing through."

What was I thinking?

Good thing I only had to drop them off and not get out of the car.
