Naked Grape Pinot's ~ Review

 I recently had the opportunity to try two Pinot's from The Naked Grape.  What a cool name, right?

The first was a crisp, lightly fruited Pinot Grigio.  With aromas and tastes of pear and honey this was fabulous with lemon/pepper crusted tilapia (see previous post).  It was mildly sweet and medium bodied.  Sure to please but not overwhelm any food pairing.  I would also serve this with pasta in a lightly garlic butter sauce...and top it with some shrimp.  This wine is also fun for drinking alone (without food) and would be a great refresher on a hot Summer day.

The second wine was the Naked Grape Pinot Noir.  I'm a Red Gal for the most part and have found Pinot Noirs to have great character and rich flavor.  This blend did not disappoint.  With blackberry and hints of mushroom, this medium bodied wine is nice to sip on alone or could be paired with and light seasoned meat dish.  I enjoyed mine with homemade meat-sauced spaghetti topped with fresh sauteed veggies (red onion, zucchini squash and yellow bell pepper).  The flavor of both were pleasantly enhanced by the pairing.

I would personally purchase either of these.  Falling in the $10 range, they are subtle enough to be very versatile and would please a wide variety guests who may or may not have my love for wine.  Good Value.
