Mome reads Mommy, My daughter's way to spell it when she was younger... It stuck. My son calls me Mome... just like it looks. I now sign all my notes to them "Love, Mome". It's our inside secret and makes them smile. I always want them to smile.

What the Hell Wednesday ~ Popsicles, Wii Fit and Date Night

Yep. It's Wednesday. While some people post all their phenomenal photos, I've decided to join the lovely ladies at Blue Monkey Butt and post my "What the Hell" moment from the last week. Stop on over and join in. It's a ton of fun.

Here we go...

My darling 3 year old was bugging the Hell out of me the other day for Popsicles. What the Hell? Who wants Popsicles when it's 30 degrees out? (I know 30 isn't that cold compared to where some of you live, but don't hate me because I was smart enough to move South before settling down)Anywho. I tried to explain this to her and she was insistent that she had to have a Popsicle. I really wanted to put the little bugger out on the porch with a cup of juice with a stick in it and let her wait it out. I even tweeted that, (and since no one responded, I thought it was safe to post that here.) I ended up filling a cup with juice, putting a stick in it and sticking it in the freezer. All I heard for 3 hours was "Is it done?" "Can we check on my Popsicle?". When it was finally finished I gave it to her. She licked it once. I repeat. Once. Then she set it down and said "I think I would like chocolate pudding instead" What the Hell? She is so taking her juice-with-a-stick-in-it to the porch next time.

I started working out this week. For the first time in ...FOREVER. It's just Wii Fit Plus. It's just kicking my butt. What the Hell? Is it good? Or am I really that out of shape? I'll let you know in a month or so.

I believe it's been over a year since Hubster and I have been out alone. What the Hell? It's a resolution of mine to implement date night. Next Friday we will venture out, without the kids. The babysitter is already lined up. I made sure it was on a pay day...in case we wanted to get crazy. I asked Hubster, "What do you want to do on our date night?" He says. "I've been thinking about that. I don't know." I say, "How 'bout a movie and maybe some dinner?" He says, "I'm not sure we can afford it?" What the Hell? We usually get pizza and a movie every Friday and if I have to work, at least two of the weekend meals are purchased for him and the kids. I think he's scared to be alone with me.

What are your WTH moments?

  1. Good for you for establishing date night as a priority. We are trying to find ways to do cheap date nights but the babysitting factor is the problem. So I'm about to ask some friends for some favors. We have a gift card to outback we'd like to use. And another to our favorite italian restaurant. Money has gotten very scarce around here so anything we can do to keep costs down is great. Heard last night our local library is actually establishing a date night. You can bring your kids and they go to the juvenile services area where they are babysat, have crafts, can use computers etc. while you go to the meeting room and watch a movie together. The seats aren't comfy like the theatre, but IT'S FREE! Think I'll check that out. They did say they don't do diapers. But usually Carinne has done her business before that time of day so I'm thinking we can make it work.

  2. I would definitely put her on the porch next time.

We just had a great time alone over New Year's Eve. That's probably it until sometime in August since our older daughter/babysitter is leaving next month for an internship at Disney. We've never had to pay a babysitter so I guess we're a little spoiled. Have a great time whatever you guys do. Thanks for playing WTHW!

  3. Sandy~ Why anonymous? Took me a sec to figure out who it was, lol. I won't lie, money is an issue, but since he's the one who's been moping that I have time for everyone BUT him, you'd think he'd be a little more excited and come up with something, kwim? Movie at the library? Sorry, that doesn't sound fun at all:)

Elle~ See, you gals are catching on;) This is the first time in 6.5 years that we've hired a babysitter, usually the In-Laws watch the kids. I was just trying to show Hubster that I'm committed to my resolutions (one being monthly date nights). Sorry you're losing your babysitter, but Disney? Way cool.

  6. Thanks for joining us today! Aren't kids annoying? I wish I could get my husband to go on a date night with me, I can't even remember the last time we went on a date. It doesn't help that he goes to bed at 8:30 pm every night! Ugh. I started using the Wii fit plus too, and I am beyond sore, what the hell?

I just about died...but it was funny!!
