Oriental Trading is a great alternative for those not wishing to give out candy. We would give out candy...if we were home, but I do order crafts from OT at least 3 times a year to have on hand for different parties and for rainy or cold days that we can't play outside. I also purchased several different crafts for Boogie's end of school party last year to put in the treat bags instead of candy and Dollar Store stuff. The prices are great and the fun factor lasts much longer than a piece of candy.
Here's some of the crafts we made over the Summer. These cute magnets adorn our fridge and remind us of a fun afternoon spent avoiding the rain.
Those are adorable. I haven't received the Oriental Trading catalog in years. I will go sign-up again to receive it, those magnets are too cute.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog. Found you through Mom Bloggers Follow Group. I am following and looking forward to read more.
Cute and fun, good suggestion. It's been a long time since mine was young enough that this was something I needed to do directly. However, I have my little pseudo grandchild next door that we love to buy things for when he comes trick or treating.
ReplyDeleteWe have so few treators that I don't even bother to buy stuff except for the 3 kids on the street.
But, I love crafts...as you know, so will check out Oriental Trading, never heard of them. Wonder if they're just not in my area? Haven't sent catalog's out in this area.
Visiting all Bridge Team Members this am,
Hope things are going well for you

I love Oriental Trading. I am ordering from there for my older daughter's Halloween social. The nice thing about Oriental Trading prizes is that they don't go stale. You can whip them out on a snow day for more entertainment for your own kids.
ReplyDeleteNice tips for making this tiem Halloween more enjoyable.
